Weather in Cyprus.

The Mediterranean climate of Cyprus is temperate with hot, dry summers and cool and somewhat wetter winters. The heat of the day can vary greatly across the island however, with some cities experiencing much warmer daytime temperatures than others. The island is generally basked in the warm sun the whole year round.

Springtime on Cyprus is generally dry and cool. The spring arrives early; typically by late February the weather is already warm enough for taking a dip in the pool or heading out to the beach to soak in the sun.

The summers last long, from May until October generally, and this is a time of cloudless skies, cool breezes when you’re near the sea and very warm temperatures. Be sure to apply liberal quantities of sunscreen and if you’re heading out to explore the archaeological sites around the island it is best to do so in the early morning or late afternoon.

Fall arrives in late October, but you’d probably never notice if it weren’t for a calendar. The weather remains quite warm throughout much of October, when the temperatures start to get a bit cooler. The autumn can be quite pleasant and mild on Cyprus.

Winter brings the rainy season, but even from December through February visitors will find plenty of sun, and many warm days. Daytime highs are in the 60s so water sports are out, but this makes for a great time to head to Cyprus to see the cultural and historic sites. Unlike other resort islands, Cyprus remains a year round destination.
